Opposites attract in Japan—ancient traditions fuse with advanced technology while minimalism meets kitsch
Niseko, Makkari
What can I say? Good food at a cozy place 😀 We had our Christmas dinner there and were not disappointed. If you are coming from the Hirafu area, it takes about 40 mins by car. Will visit again in the summer; I am sure the surroundings will be beautifully green 😀

Best pizza I have eaten! Must go but reservations is a must! (far ahead if you visit during the busy Christmas/ New Year season) Place is small and seating is limited, unfortunately.

Small owner-operated place with limited seating. Eel rice met my cravings at the time. Highly recommend the Anago Sushi though; texture of the meat is so soft it literally melts in yr mouth.....

If : 1) you are going to be in Niseko for the ski/snowboard 2019/2020 season 2) you are willing to spend 10,000 yen per person on this meal 3) you can afford a two-hour lunch then you might like to check out this place. Known for its delicious and much sought-after SOBA ( customers have been known to queue for an hour or more for their 20 servings of SOBA per day), this restaurant has recently converted to an online reservation only operation and upgraded from a simple Soba type place to a 9-course meal that culminates with a hot or cold Soba with classic or duck soup.

“Chinese Hotpot with Japanese ingredients,” says BY. Opened six years ago by a Hongkonger, the delicious soup base that we chose is a mixture of Hokkaido milk and fish broth. The Wagyu beef and Spanish pork were very good. As corkage is free, you can BYOB 😀✌️

We had the Tsubaki course (30,000 yen for two persons) and enjoyed the fresh sashimi and sushi. The oysters were succulent and juicy, as were the scallops. As we sat at the counter, the chef shared that the pork and the three different types of beef (Chuck Eye Roll, Chuck Rib and Spencer Roll) served for the Shabu-Shabu were sourced locally from Hokkaido.
