Found Nemo (clown fish species) here first and it was super surreal. Dive & Trek is only about 2 hours away from the city. Best to leave around 5 in the morning so you don’t get caught in Batangas traffic. Rooms and rates are average, view is amazing. Serious eat-sleep-dive routine for divers (not necessarily in this order). Try star-gazing by the deck at night. Spectacular rain of shooting stars if you get lucky. Check with a dive instructor first if you decide to go on a Discover Scuba lesson.

Not necessarily a dream come true for SCUBA divers but growing up and dreaming of becoming a Marine Biologist, I kind of envisioned myself as a part-time NatGeo underwater photographer and maybe take photos of the great White shark. But ever since JAWS, I kissed that vision goodbye. 😂 Sharks in Sennen Cove however are gentle and only have small hooked teeth like whales and aren’t considered dangerous to mammals like us although it was said that their sharp scales have injured divers.

Florida beaches are the ones I wouldn’t dare dip even a toe in. Florida has more shark attacks each year than any other body of water in the world, with 303 unprovoked attacks only at Smyrna Beach.

Bask in the glory of the sleeping sharks of Isla Mujeres. These gentle giants migrate through the waters off of the island from May to September. Come by mid-July and celebrate the Annual Whale Shark Festival where tourists and divers from all around the world gather to witness the great migration.

Réunion Island is a French island off the coast of Madagascar. I mean if this whole “Madagascar” thing doesn’t intimidate you, I’m sure the Tiger and Bull sharks here will. 😂

Ever seen 47 Meters Down? Were a couple of free-spirited sisters decided to be stupid one day and shark-watch in the waters of Mexico? This kind of feels the same. 🤪

My ULTIMATE diver dream—a sardine run! It’s a shame I have not been to Cebu so I will make sure that if I ever go, I’d plan a weekend dive at Panagsama. The largest sardine run is believed to be in South Africa and MoalBoal comes in second! What’s great is that this amazing show happens all year round!
