The serene ambiance and a front-row seat for sunset viewing bring people out to Bob Wentz Park for a cooling dip. The place is very relaxing, and all you need to worry about is where to lay a mat to sunbathe. There’s a pavilion, barbecue grills, and tables for those who might want to extend the celebration with a family picnic. Wear your most comfortable shoes, though, because it’s a little rocky here.
Everyone in Austin knows West Lake Beach. It’s been around since 1954, so even your parents probably have stories to tell if you ask them. This swimming hole began as a go-to picnic spot for families, then grew into a full-fledged recreational space. It now has a large pavilion, boat stalls, picnic tables, and barbecue grills for the perfect relaxing afternoon. There's also a beach volleyball court pleading to see some action after a nice swim. Before you know it, the sun’s down, and you just had a day well-spent.
