A German town encrusted with 72,000 tons of diamonds 💎! 15 million years ago, a 1km-wide asteroid slammed into the ground, creating such intense heat and pressure that the bubbles of carbon within the bedrock transformed almost instantly into diamonds of less than 0.2mm across! The town and buildings are made almost entirely of the stone peppered with diamonds, called suevite, and the walls do shine and glimmer whenever the sun hits!
