Ok. So this is the first ever location of Tim Ho Wan. Open all evening for dim sum, and hella cheap. Clean freaks will not like it. It’s hot, a little stinky, and service is rude, curt, and impatient. But hey, one Michelin star, novelty, a true example of HK’s local of the local dim sum scenes, and the rushed impatient culture. What’s not to love?

Um, of course I have to eat in a Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong! Can't believe I haven't already actually 🧐

This unsuspecting little Dim Sum spot holds a secret: it’s a Michelin-awarded restaurant and part of a growing culinary empire. One of the cheapest establishments to receive the coveted Star, Tim Ho Wan promises exceptional Dim Sum at affordable prices. Diners who brave the hours-long queues are rewarded with some of the best in Hong Kong. Aside from the succulent dumplings, their Baked Buns with BBQ Pork—crunchy, light buns packed with sweet barbecue pork—are a must-try, and absolutely worth the wait. As branches in other countries have begun popping up, the clamor for Tim Ho Wan’s Dim Sum just keep getting bigger!

Something about the soft but firm texture of dumplings make me think that I might be addicted to it. One of the places that I could satisfy my craving around the area is Tasty Dumplings. Prices aren't that expensive and you get a wide variety of dumpling options to choose from- a lot of which you can't find at your "cheap mall dumpling carts" I highly recommend this place!

We get a lot of gigs in the UST area or Manila in general, but I live in Cavite, so I have to get there really early like 2 in the afternoon even when the gig’s at 9 in the evening. It’s not a problem because I still have a lot of friends still studying or just living in the area, so we drop by Angkong’s. Their dimsum is extremely juicy and flavorful.
