Do Poetry and Music run in your blood? Time to check out Conspiracy Garden Cafe along Visayas Ave. What I love about this place is that they promote not just mainstream artists but also indie musicians, singers and poets.

Basically a house. Very cozy. We saw Munimuni, The Ridley’s, and Coeli who are even better in a more intimate setting! Juan Miguel Severo and Alfonso Manalastas performed their spoken word. Bullet Dumas worked the bar. It was a legendary night straight from my dreams.

Manila’s soulful songwriters serenade Conspiracy Garden Cafe. The murmur of conversation and music lace the open air of their charming backyard. Let the beer cool your head and the music warm your heart. The nights are long, so when you’re finally ready, talk it out. Even if there are lapses in the conversation, gentle melodies will be there to catch the silences. Imagine, a sombre voice singing “Ikaw at Ako” (You and Me), “Walang iwanan, tag-init o tag-ulan / Haharapin bawat unos na mag-daan (We’ll stay together, through the drought or rain / We’ll weather each passing storm)…” Singer-songwriters like Johnoy Danao lay their heart bare on the “stage”. And so can you.

Intimate acoustic sets weave their stories through a simple strum of the guitar and heartfelt verses here at Conspiracy Garden Café. Sometimes, in what could be your living room; sometimes, out in the backyard garden; either way, it’s always in the spirit of a relaxed jam session among friends. OPM icons like Noel Cabangon and Joey Ayala have played here, but it makes sure to open its doors to independent acts and emerging bands as well. Expect a cover charge, as most gigs spots in Manila ask for a fee at the door. Event details are posted regularly with ticket prices online, so follow them on Facebook!

Had my share of countless nights here, let’s just say that every night here was legendary as every night brings a new genre to the table.

19 East is a bar that hits really close to home because it’s literally close to my home! But also, this was our first performance in a high-end bar and we got to perform with legends like Imago for a fun Halloween set.

Back in 2018, way before we were signed to Sony, we were the front act for huge names like Moonstar88, Typecast, Stellar, and so many more insane bands, so it was humbling to perform on the same stage as them at 12 Monkeys since no one’s heard of us at this point. Later that night, we had a brief encounter with the vocalist of Stellar in the restroom and he was like “S--t, man you guys are f--king good!” and they gave us a shout out during their set!
