My absolute favorite place to go for authentic ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่ Guay Tiew Kua Gai (lit trans: Noodle Mix Chicken, aka Yummy Noodle Goodness)! The noodles are crispy and fragrant from the burning hot fire yet bouncy at the same time because of the freshness of the noodles. It’s only open in the evening so make sure you grab a plate of noodles with chicken, marinated squid and eggs for dinner!

🎼All I need is lard-naa (pour on the face), lard-naa~ lard-naa is all YOU need 🤗 If you’ve never tried this dish, THIS is the place to try it!! The Thai name literally translates as “pour on your face” but what it actually means is pouring something on the “face” of the dish. The chewy texture of these noodles are out of this world! But honestly the subtle yet strong smokey flavor from the charcoal they use to cook these noodles are just out of this universe 🤩 Combined with the rich gravy and fresh seafood that is poured on top, it’s just heaven on a plate!

🎼Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin on purpose (tang jai yoo), stayin on purpose~ Yes I would gladly stay here on purpose because the food is soooo good 👌🏼 My parents have been coming here for years! Classic Chinese style restaurant that has long queues at night due to its long-standing popularity (if you get hungry whilst you wait, head over to the satay stall on the right of the restaurant! Great flavors and perfect with a cold glass of beer you can order from the restaurant). Looking for a traditional restaurant with great food and air con? Here it is! Recs: 🏮Pickled vegetable (crunchy, sweet, great palette cleanser between the oily dishes) 🏮Roasted pig (comes with steamed pancake and yummeh sauce) 🏮Salt and pepper mantis shrimp (get ready to get your hands dirty) 🏮Crispy tofu skin with crab meat (ห้อยจ๊อ)

This little gem always reminds me of my time in China. Although I don’t think it’s authentic enough, it is probably the closest thing to “authentic” Chinese bar food you’ll get in bkk. I do love the chill vibe and the Chinese spice infused cocktail menu though!

🎼Tian mi mi~~~ This little dessert shop sure is Tian Mi Mi 甜蜜蜜 (very sweet) indeed! Great break from all the savory goodness in Chinatown! Although the menu is quite limited I loved their mango and sesame tofu pudding. Very refreshing and simple yet delicious!
