On Cheryl's birthday, I'll take her to Mow's Bar in Quezon City for a few drinks, some dimsum and live music. Talking to her about Lemi's story made me realize how important it is to share personal narratives and a part of you when sharing places, that's why I'm taking her somewhere close to home. 💖

If you’re looking for the perfect venue to check your favorite bands in the Metro, Mow’s is the place to be. You’ll be surprised that they’ve got gigs even on weekdays, and to be honest it’s always a fun surprise to catch up and coming indie bands that way. I’ve got a pretty big bias about Mow’s because it’s really one of my go-to-venues when I’m organizing or going to gigs in general. It’s spacious, it’s got several venues to choose from— from bar setting to bigger venues like Imperial Mow’s, they’ve also got some pretty awesome food care of the Kowloon House attached to the building. Literally on the underground, Mow’s is all raw, unbridled energy, fuelled by up-and-coming bands that draw a crowd as young as the university students in the area as well as seasoned gig-hoppers to this dive bar. Descend into the dim basement of Kowloon House, thrash with the crowd, and come back upstairs to fill up on energy with dim sum. To regulars, it’s a weekly tradition to distract them from the humdrum of papers and exams.

19 East is a bar that hits really close to home because it’s literally close to my home! But also, this was our first performance in a high-end bar and we got to perform with legends like Imago for a fun Halloween set.
