Tonki has been welcoming tonkatsu (豚カツ, fried pork cutlet) connoisseurs for almost 80 years, proving its traditional home-style cooking is one to beat! This old-fashioned restaurant has two levels, but we suggest you queue at the ground floor to witness the chefs cook up your meal! Choose between Hire (ヒレ, pork fillet) or Rosu (ロース, pork loin) cuts, partnered with rice, miso soup, and pickles. Take note, though—you’ll probably reek of oil after dining here!

There’s something crazy about their katsu! It offers great Japanese comfort food at best value pricing and the minimalist restaurant provide diners a zen ambiance so they can enjoy their meals. Crazy Katsu is definitely a must-try when you’re craving for Japanese indulgence without breaking the bank!

Calde and I have been going to Crazy Katsu since it first opened. It’s a very simple restaurant, which primarily caters to students of nearby University of the Philippines in Diliman. That said, the prices are very affordable! Everything’s so good, especially their signature Chicken Katsu. We love the place’s whole aesthetic, too!
