Glowing neon signs mark this eatery, often packed with locals hankering for baskets of Black Truffle and Crab Dumplings and Pineapple Buns. Not to mention, piggy-shaped Salted Yolk Custard Buns that look too cute to eat!
The atmosphere is welcoming, with the clatter of dishes and friendly conversation surrounding diners as they indulge and satisfy their cravings for good Dim Sum!
We get a lot of gigs in the UST area or Manila in general, but I live in Cavite, so I have to get there really early like 2 in the afternoon even when the gig’s at 9 in the evening. It’s not a problem because I still have a lot of friends still studying or just living in the area, so we drop by Angkong’s. Their dimsum is extremely juicy and flavorful.
Won't ever forget this place.
It was my first time doing field work in Binondo and my bosses wanted to eat lunch in this small restaurant around the area. Being the newbie and the 'baby girl' in the team, i didn't really know what to expect.
They ordered for me and then came the biggest pork chop i've seen in my existence lol. It was an awkward time as it was my first day at field, first time to eat with the bosses, and i didn't want them to find out that i was 'masiba'. By the end of lunch time, i didn't even finish the whole pork chop because i was trying to be timid.
Went back after a few weeks alone and i was so satisfied that i finally had the chance to finish the whole thing 😋
