Recommendation by Jica Simpas
Omoide Yokocho ("Memory Lane") is a series of narrow alleys near Shinjuku Station. It's home to many tiny restaurants and izakaya joints set in run-down buildings reminiscent of Japan's Showa era. I didn't catch the name of the specific place we ate in, but Tokyo being Tokyo, I'm pretty sure wherever you settle, you'll find something good. Beware of cover charges!
