The Calamian Deer is an endangered species of deer found only in the Calamian Islands of Palawan, Philippines. The title I chose for this painting comes from my hope of the species recovering in number—where they could freely roam outside in the sun, not having to worry about illegal hunting. The artwork is a part of Para sa Kalikasan, a Philippines-Malaysia Joint Art Exhibition exhibit organized by the Philippine Fauna Art Society. The event launched on July 28, 2021 in celebration of the World Nature Conservation Day. Dimensions: 12"x18" Material: Watercolor on Paper With Free Frame Year: 2021
