PAWS for a moment

Philippines

Met Bailey and Merlot. My fur-babies before Teo was born. Bailey is a Beagle-Chihuahua mix meaning he looks like a beagle but is short in height and in temper. Merlot is a Carlin Pincher so she has some features and a gentle personality of a bulldog but a small thin body of a mini-pincher. You can’t imagine how much our lives have changed since we got them. Endless hair shedding, chewed-up slippers, non-stop barking at night and more. But nothing can compare to the unconditional love and affection your dog can give. Surprising I share a special date with them: October 4. It’s my birthday and it’s actually National Pet Day in the Philippines. Celebrating our month, I’m planning to take them here:

Hachi Park

Located in Circulo Verde, Hachi Park is named after Japan’s loyal dog Hachiko who continued to wait at Shibuya Station for the arrival of his owner for nine years following his death. It’s off-leash policy allows your pooch to enjoy and interact with other dogs safely with a 1.2-meter fence surrounding the area. Picking up and cleaning after your dog is easy with several accessible rubbish bins and water basins. It is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This is one of their favorite spots. Lots of grass to run on and a lot of other dogs to meet. And there are a lot of pet-friendly restaurants and cafes where you can grab some snacks. But if you have a hyper dog, better keep them on a leash since High Street intersects with some busy roads.

La Mesa Ecopark

San Mateo, Philippines • Recommendation •

If you want to get a bit further away from the noise and traffic, this is your best bet. Your dog will love the fresh woody breeze, tree-lined trails and the overall serenity being so close to nature. Just prepare some snacks and supplies so that you and your buddy won’t get hungry.

Instead of giving them some scraps from your meal, why give them a whole meal especially made for them? Made from all natural ingredients, their meal will not only put a smile on their faces, but also give their tummies a health boost! There are also a lot of desserts and snacks you can get for your dog. I’m planning to get a birthday cake for Bailey.
