My son Teo just turned 2 this year. But for the past months in quarantine, all he knows is the four corners of our little house. Before COVID, we used to take him along to church, take him to the mall for his favorite ramen, bring him when we see family and friends. Now, like many other kids, he is missing out from enjoying a lot of stuff that’s out there! And until there is a safe vaccine available, he won’t be able to experience all the fun places a little toddle can explore. But, maybe in a year or two (hopefully), I want to take him to places where he can create really fun memories. For now, here are my travel plans for Teo: Got any other recos for me?
Okay, this might be a bit cliché, but Boracay is Boracay, guys. The first time we took Teo to the pool, he freaking loved it! So what more the crystal clear waters of Boracay’s beaches! Plus, he can build sand castles or a sand race track for his fave toy, Blaze! And I finally introduce him to the Peanut Butter Chocolate shake! Oh I can’t wait!
He has to go to Baguio. The cold mountain air, the lemon chicken on Session Road, Burnham Park, Camp John Hay are some of the core memories I’m sure he is going take away. And don’t forget the pasalubong of choco flakes, fresh strawberries and jam!
Baguio City Hall, City Hall Dr, Baguio, 2600 Benguet
Last on my immediate list is Okinawa. I want to take him to where I was born and raised. I want him to see the whale shark and dancing dolphin show in one of the biggest aquariums in the world, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium within the Ocean Expo Park! We'll also see the old castles, eat Okinawa Soba, have and A&W burger and visit the beaches!
SPECIAL MENTION: For an impromptu yet engaging trip with Teo would be at ART IN ISLAND located in Cubao, Quezon City. I'm sure Teo would love to have his pictures taken in this optical-illusion 3D paradise! It's not only inexpensive, but it would widen his imagination! Every corner transports you to a different world where you become part of the story. And every picture is guaranteed instagram-able!
