Nestled in a red-brick townhouse in Back Bay, Select Oyster Bar is the first solo venture of Neptune Oysters’ wunderkind Chef Michael Serpa. Rally an empty-stomached pack of friends (4 to 8 people should suffice) to gorge on The Hemingway, a feast of 24 oysters, 12 shrimp cocktails, dayboat scallop ceviche, Peekytoe crab salad, dressed Maine lobster, salmon crudo, Yellowfin Tuna tartare, six avocado toasts, Spanish octopus, sauteed petite clams, PEI mussels, and blue prawns—now that’s what we call seafood heaven! Service is poor, but once you slurp on the joint's scrumptious oysters, you may just be tempted to let it slide.

If there’s a dish that emerged from Hong Kong’s bygone typhoon shelter culture, it’s the classic spicy crab. Under Bridge is a well-known spot that serves the iconic dish with their own flavorful twist of toasted garlic, shallots, and spring onions. The restaurant also offers other hearty specialties including Sautéed Scallops, Stir-Fried Squid, and Boiled Spicy Whelks with Chinese Wine—all approved by no less than the late but great Anthony Bourdain!

I always thought this was the bar to the adjacent bowling alley, but it’s actually a nice little seafood spot. Not bad at all.
