The Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany is the most popular castle in all of Europe. It inspired the creation of the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty castles, two iconic places in the world of Disney. It also inspired the Hyrule Castle from The Legend of Zelda series. It is situated on top of a gorge, overlooking the Alps. The beautiful castle plus the ostentatious view makes it one of the most photographed sites in all of Germany!

I always dreamed to be a princess and live in a fairy tale castle. Neuschwanstein castle in Southern Germany is the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle and probably one of the world's most visited castles.
Neuschwanstein means “New Swan Stone” - derived from an opera character, the Swan Knight. This castle was built for King Ludwig II. Although the architecture is incredibly extravagant, the castle seems to be missing a Throne Hall. The Throne Hall was not completed due to Ludwig’s death. This famous castle inspired The Sleeping Beauty Castle’s design in Disneyland.
