In the day, tourists flood the Western and Byzantine Church, but at night, Saint Mark's Basilica opens its gates to the crypt where you can find the remains of the Patriarchs of Venice including St. Mark's. Thread lightly in one of the most intimate visits you'll find in the world.

San Marco 328, Venice, Italy
At the crown of the Piazza San Marco, Basilica di San Marco rises as an overwhelming figure on the cityscape. Tourists naturally flock toward it for worship and tours. Unfortunately, photography isn’t allowed inside the basilica, but that means more time for you to capture its grand facade! The stonework features various marble patterns, while religious figures sculpted in elaborate detail emerge. Frescoes peek out from under the archways as golden angels and a winged lion glint in the sunlight. Sneak in a few clicks and carry on your San Marco photo walk.

Basilica di San Marco is the perfect illustration of Venice’s ties to the East. It features a checkered facade reminiscent of properties in Constantinople (ancient Turkey), as well as five classic Greek-style domes topped with Moors-inspired ribbed lanterns. Enter the church to revel at the exquisite gold interiors, adorned with elaborate mosaics depicting biblical scenes—a quintessential Byzantine decoration. Remember to dress appropriately, since you’re visiting a place of worship. Drop by between 11:30AM to 12:45PM on weekdays, or during liturgical celebrations on Sundays and holidays when the insides of the cathedral are illuminated. Go to the nearby Campanile di San Marco for magnificent views of the city and the lagoon. The 99-meter tower is the exact brick-by-brick replica of the basilica’s original belfry, which collapsed in 1902.

Manila Cathedral is one of the attractions in Intramuros. You can relax and enjoy the view here. Inside the cathedral, it can make you feel go back in time because of the structure that still remains from the old times.

I was lucky enough to get married before the pandemic. I got married in St. Ann Parish, Molo. This church was the only Church Jose rizal visited and more than 200 years old! Yet here it is so grand and with the longest aisle in Panay ✨ The joke is, half way of the walk down the aisle? You can still exit the side door because you still have enough time to think it over hahaha. Here are some photos of that happy day!
