Boracay Island is a long stretch of powder white sand and crystal blue water. Whenever you’re in the island you cannot miss the iconic sunset at the beach!
The island underwent a rehabilitation for 6 months in 2018; tourists aren’t allowed on the island. The national government saw that the beautiful island needed a rest from people and establishments that are violating it.
After 6 months, Boracay looked brandnew! The quality of the water improved significantly, the hotels and resorts went through strict assessments to obtain their accreditation and license to operate. Now, you cannot enter the island without a hotel confirmation from an Department of Tourism accredited establishment.
So when you go to Boracay, remember that the island and the local community cannot afford to go through a rehabilitation once again, the least you could is to be a responsible traveler!
