MUST TRY: Champorado with Fish Flakes! A very unique approach to our favorite breakfast/merienda dish! 😍

Netflix and chicken wings? Try your usual comfort food with a twist: Locavore’s Kare-Kare Wings! A single order has six pieces of chicken wings with Kare-Kare glaze and buttermilk ranch dressing, which you can dip into their signature shrimp paste. If you’re a true blue Kare-Kare enthusiast, this is definitely next level!

Locavore is known for its modern take on Filipino cuisine, making use of locally grown and produced ingredients in every single dish they prepare. Probably one of their most popular entrées is the Sizzling Sinigang, which features an unusual spin on the classic Filipino sour soup. Served on a sizzling plate, it consists of beef short ribs, sauteed french beans, sampaloc gravy (tamarind gravy, instead of the traditional broth), and garlic confit. They also have great appetizers, including a Filipino Street Food Platter and Singkamas (turnips), Mangga (mango), and Bagoong (fermented shrimp paste). It’s best to reserve a table beforehand as the restaurant gets packed, especially during lunch and dinner time.

Locavore has made a name for itself through innovative takes on classic Filipino food. True enough, their versions of sisig live up to the hype! Try the Fresh Oyster Sisig or the Lechon (suckling pig) and Oyster Sisig, doused in a signature creamy sauce that will have you licking the skillet clean—after checking that it’s not hot anymore, of course.

Their Sizzling Sinigang is a winner, as well as their Lechon and Oyster Sisig. Both are classic dishes that Locavore has managed to own by putting a modern twist to it. Get both with a serving of Garlic Brown Rice. Be warned, though, these recipes are so rich—as most Filipino cooking is! If you’re not a fan of food coma-inducing fare, stick to just one dish.

Love the gourmet! This restaurant serves Filipino cuisine. We personally loved the Baked C-Sig, Bagoong Paella Kare-Kare, and Adobo Project 2! The beef adobo flakes were perfectly shredded turning into crispy flakes. Too good not to ask for an extra rice!
