Bangkok, Thailand • Recommendation •

It has been a few years since I got on a bike, however the current lockdown in Bangkok means that the roads are currently much quieter than usual and so it seems much more feasible to take a cycle around the back sois of my neighbourhood. I borrowed a bike from my neighbour which had been in the cupboard for about three years and took it to Thong Lor Bike for a check up. They quickly topped up the tires and adjusted the seat and sold me a reasonably priced helmet and lock. Very friendly service and quick service. They also sell coffee and seem knowledgeable about bikes. When I inevitably break the bike I’ll be taking it back there to get fixed.

Known as Bangkok's Green Lung, Bang Krachao is a great place to escape the city. You can take a ferry across the river then rent a bike for just 100 baht per day and cycle around leafy roads and elevated walkways. No talk buildings are allowed in Bang Krachao and there is minimal traffic.
