Director Nicholas Hytner opened this brand new theatre in 2017 next to Tower Bridge. They specialize in immersive productions where the audience in the pit becomes part of the performance. I recently went to see A Midsummers Night Dream starring Gwendoline Christie (Brienne from game of thrones) and the very funny Hammed Animashaun as Bottom. You are literally inches from the actors as they perform and sometimes do acrobatics above your head! Try to catch this show, you might even hear some Beyonce when you least expect it.

Epidaurus Theatre
The earliest form of theatre traces back to ancient Greece where dramatic presentations were a form of entertainment during festivals, religious rituals, weddings, even funerals. During the 5th century, these presentations were later made into a competition as part of their devotion to Dionysus, Greek god of wine and fertility. Up to this day, many Greek playwrights remain immortal through their works such as Aeschylus, Plato, Sophocles, and Euripides. Notable greek plays include Oedipus Rex, The Oresteian Trilogy, Medea, Antigone, and Hippolytus. The Epidaurus Theatre is considered to be one of the best ancient Greek theatres due it's advanced design in aesthetics and acoustics-- spectators in the very back row could clearly hear the performers from down front. Being well preserved, the ancient theatre is still use up to this day to stage ancient plays as part of the annual summer Epidaurus Festival.
Massey Hall
When one hears of a famous popstar or celebrity coming to Canada, it will most likely be held at the ever so prominent Massey Hall. Names range from artists that many have grown to love like Alanis Morisette, Kelly Clarkson, and even the late Anthony Bourdain. Some indie artists have also played here such as Death Cab for Cutie and Sufjan Stevens. Widely recognized as a venue for different forms of art, the hall was established by Hart Massey and his family in 1933. What made it a premier location for important events is its incredible acoustics, providing the warmest sound elevated all throughout the room.
Finnish National Theatre
The Finnish National Theatre is the oldest Finnish-language theatre in the country that is still in operation. It was designed by Onni Tarjanne, a Finnish architect and professor of construction, in 1902, and is located behind a statue of Finland’s most prominent writer, Aleksis Kivi. It is a grey brick building with a contrasting red roof, and towers that shoot towards the sky. Arches frame its tall windows, bringing to mind classic Art Nouveau portraits. Talk about stunning! It is also Finland's first public building, where the features of repetitive styles have receded to give way the Art Nouveau style.
