San Fernando, Philippines • Recommendation •

Pampanga is known to be the culinary capital of the Philippines. Kapampangans pride themselves to be excellent cooks and chefs. One of them, the “guardian of Kapampangan Reseta” – Atching Lillian Borromeo. Her heirloom recipes are mouth-watering that will bring back memories of yesteryears. After all, Pampanga is the country's culinary capital. Enjoy the exotic Bobotong Asan, Bringhe, Sisig, TidTad, Tibok-tibok and brace yourself for Ensaladang Pako with Itlog ng Bayawak!  Reservation is required.

Casa Reyes Bistro Filipino

San Juan, Philippines • Recommendation •

Enjoy a sense of nostalgia as you enter Casa Reyes Bistro Filipino. The ambience will bring you back to a "feel" of Old Manila. While the food is a combination of traditional FIlipino favorites, and some Pinoy dishes with an exciting twist. Even their artisanal pinoy gelatos are being served in cute Sorbetero cart.  It is perfect for family celebrations - because you know you are served excellent food choices. I also recommend this place - if you have balikbayan relatives and you want them to have a taste of Filipino dishes that they truly miss.

Imagine dining with your balikbayan relatives in a house build in the 1920's. A wide staircase that leads to the veranda gives you the feel of aristocratic elegance of the forgone era. As you enter the dining area, get ready to be enthralled with art-deco pieces transforming your senses to a magnificent old world charm. The food is equally charming -- From the most raved Roast Angus Beef Belly to Bagnet in the carving station to the rich Kare-Kare and bountiful Shrimp dishes; down to the sweet tooth cravings of the crowd favourite Brigaderos and Frozen Brazo that never fails to get you going back for more.
