Joining The Clove Club in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants is Lyle’s, holding the 38th slot. Delivering a micro-seasonal spread of the country’s best produce, Lyle’s features fruit from the south coast during summer. Meanwhile, shooting period brings in game bird and venison to the menu. Watch out for The Guest Series, which are monthly events where esteemed culinary maestros join local chefs to bring a new perspective to British cuisine.

LOVE. The Ledbury lives up to its shimmering 2 Michelin Star reputation. Best Mille Feuille I ever had (pic 11) - it didn't fall apart even when we cut it into quarters, and the knife came out clean. To satisfy savory cravings, highly recommend the egg dish (pic 8; was so good we ordered another) and the wrapped slow cooked beef (pic 10). Wine list is expensive but at the top ends there are good wines for decent prices. Would definitely come back. Ladies; leave the 6-inch heels at home, you need to walk down a narrow flight of stairs to get to the bathroom.

One of my favorite breakfasts in a hotel. Beautiful interiors and great food. Get a table by the window - super pretty in the morning.

Okay, maybe this one is a little bit pretentious. They want you to pay when you book (urgh), they won't allow cancellations (why), they ask you for your interests (really), and they serve their food in all sorts of strange receptacles (see photo), but if you can get over all of those things, boy are you in for a treat! The food is imaginative and interesting without trying too hard to be so. You can still recognise most things on your plate and each ingredient still shines through. Very Scandi, if you know what I mean. I still think of their truffled scallop fondly. Probably the tastiest scallop I've had. As soon as I'd finished it I was sad because it was over.
