The Healthy Lechon
The growing number of Filipinos and the increasing amount of illnesses that are associated with eating synthetically-grown farm products and processed food strengthened the drive for us to grow food that is safe and healthy. It is our farm animals that drink herbal tea, feed on fermented feeds, and cherish the love and care we give them, that make our livestock happy, healthy, and nutritious. As a matter of fact, a happy one produces delicious meat.
To counter animal diseases, we supplement our animals with fermented oregano, sambong and lagundi. Our natural antibiotic is comprised of garlic, turmeric, ginger, chili, and onion fermented with 35% gin tonic, calling it Oriental Herb Nutrient or OHN.
Their beddings are sprayed with indigenous micro-organisms to counter the possible proliferation of pathogens and other harmful diseases that may affect our livestock. By doing so, you can hardly smell the bad odor of their feces; thus, we call our pig farming “Babuyang Walang Amoy”.
