Natural Wonders
Mount Daraitan, Lalawigan ng Rizal, Philippines
a year ago
Situated in Tanay, Rizal, Mount Daraitan is 739 meters above sea level. If it's going to be your first time to climb it, make sure the weather is favorable. We were expecting a sunny day, I had no issues climbing up to the summit. But when we were about to climb down, it rained twice while we were in the middle of the mountain. Rocks are sharp and it was really muddy, some of the climbers were really hurt sliding down to sharp rocks. It took me hours before I reached the foot of the mountain. Sweaty, muddy and a bit emotional because I thought I will spend my whole night there. We were all joking around after the adventure as our tour guide informed us that it's just a level 3 to 4, not much assault - if it didn't rain. It was a climb done to end my 2019 with a "bang!" and start my 2020 with fun. Tiring yet full of memorable experience.

I can still vividly remember the sound of leaves and grass rustling in the wind at Mt. Daraitan. It was like something would take your breath away everywhere you’d look. Funnily enough, I also saw carabaos in the area, and you’d just wonder how they got there. Did they swim across or did some locals bring them in on boats?

Tre Cime di Lavarado is an excellent destination for the Star Wars fan-slash-alpinist. Featured in Solo: A Star Wars Story, these three distinctive tooth-like peaks are warmer in reality than in film. We can't say the same when you get to the top, though!

although the boat ride to the island was really long, the ambiance in the island itself is worth it. the people are friendly and you can explore how they live their life in the island. the cute island doggos are a plus
