Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan

Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines • Recommendation •

Crimson is one of the best places to stay in Mactan. Well-appointed rooms, great food, excellent service, a sprawling property with a pretty infinity pool. Beach is decent with amazing marine life underneath if you’re interested to snorkel.

Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel

Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines • Recommendation •

True to its name, it not only is a beach property as its well-landscaped gardens make for a very relaxing stay, especially now in the “new normal”. The resort is abundant with open spaces which provide a calming effect, something we all need during these stressful times. The food is AMAZING! Every corner is Instagrammable. The Boardwalk is a well thought-of addition! The staff were all warm and friendly.⁣⁣

Citadines Cebu City

Cebu City, Philippines • Recommendation •

Citadines must be one of my favorite hotel properties in Cebu City. Their location at the heart of uptown Cebu is already an advantage. Their rooms are spacious, modern and well thought of. There are more than enough power and USB outlets in all the places you’d expect them to be. The rooms are also equipped with a fully-functional kitchen. The toilet has a bidet. I must also mention that instead of single use plastic bottles, they are using 2.5 gallon water containers which should be enough for your stay. The bed and pillows are extra comfortable. And most of all, beyond the amenities, the service is very warm, personalized and genuine. I really cannot wait to be back.

Maayo San Remigio

Cadiz, Philippines • Recommendation •

Aside from the view, the courteous staff, and countless Instagrammable spots, I must say I was pretty impressed at how they made use of technology for an almost contactless new normal experience: 👉Online registration is required and each guest must fill out the health declaration form 24 hours prior to arrival. 👉Temperature check upon arrival 👉Contactless check-in: Scan QR code e-mailed to you at the front desk and your UV-sanitized key will be provided 👉Contactless payment: No cash will be accepted. Modes of payment are PayMaya, GCash, Debit and Credit Card 👉Contactless Restaurant service: QR codes with the restaurant and pool bar menu are provided. Prices are very affordable! 👉WiFi in the resort is strong and stable. Mobile networks are intermittent although Smart has better LTE coverage 👉P.S. Cable / Local channels are not yet available at the resort. Feel free to bring your own USB entertainment

Maayo Hotel

Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines • Recommendation •

I had a refreshingly glorious slumber at one of Maayo Hotel’s Specialty Rooms which use color therapy as part of their wellness program. 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊 I stayed at the KAHEL (Orange) Room. With a blend of red (energy) and yellow (happiness), the health benefits attributed to the color include stimulated appetite and mental activity, among others.
