Susukino Street

My trip across Japan started off in Susukino. The home to Sapporo's vibrant nightlife district was quiet enough at 11am, despite the extensive shopping options. As I sat for a little break in the covered shopping street, I was nostalgically reminded of the similar one in Kyoto. Except here my neighbors were not tourists but bundled up elderly. They eyeballed me as if wondering what strange creature I was, to appear in Sapporo during this off-peak season. In fact, not only were there very few foreign tourists, there were very few people in general. Not that I am complaining. Having sightseeing spots all to myself at whatever hour of the day? Yes, please. 💸 Susukino is a cheap place to put up for those seeking budget-friendly hostels in a central location (and that is exactly what I did). It is near to station, food and shopping (my travelling holy trinity). 📷 by wikimedia
