When you hear the word Ilocos longganisa, I will bet that you are already thinking of Vigan. Let me share my discovery to you. There is another type of Ilocos longganisa besides Vigan and you can order them from a legit ilocana seller @ilocaneza and they call it 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮. Both vigan & ilocos longganisa are derecado type, it means that they are both garlicky & salty. The only difference between the two is the amount of sukang iloco used in the preparation. Ilocos Longganisa has lesser vinegar which allows the natural meat flavor to become more dominant & noticeable when consumed. What’s my verdict??? @ilocaneza ’s longganisa is very commendable. It has the right level of saltiness & has minimal fat because they have used lean meat. It has a subtle sourness and strong garlicky & meaty flavor which is a perfect match to your sinangag & fried egg. Sa madaling salita, Masarap! ☺️
